Phoenix Valley Government Affairs

Over the past 9 years the General Partner of Phoenix Valley Design/Build, S A Everly, increasingly became more and more involved in the political activities in the Maricopa County city halls, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the Arizona State Capitol.

In large part, this involvement stemmed from addressing his clients’ real estate related problems with various local, county and state agencies.  During the resolution process, large disconnects between the clients’ needs and the requirements imposed by the many agencies with jurisdiction over the outcome became evident.

Empowered by these experiences, this site is to serve as a platform for public involvement and heated debates in which problems are aired and times, dates and places identified. Welcome to Phoenix Valley Government Affairs. The primary goal of the site is to create a platform to best:

1. Name names and hold our public figures accountable for their words, actions and deeds. 
2. We name names to document factual discussions and experiences in my engagements.  As a strong believer in public empowerment, we believe very few topics are “off the record.”  Our leaders were not voted into office “off the record,” so why should make changes in a shrouded vacuum.   

In many instances, the problems were simply a matter of semantics and interpretation of requirements with no intended harm by either party.  Yet in a few instances the problems stemmed from an overzealous application of broadly written and interpreted regulations and statutes.  In, at least, two specific instances the problems were a direct result of malfeasance and/or misconduct of public employees and their elected managers.

We invite you to explore the issues of our involvement, comment on the viewpoints, make suggestions regarding our methods and, most importantly, get involved in the outcome - as many of the matters we discuss do, in fact, concern you.

You have all heard the saying, “If it can happen to him, it can certainly happen to me”.  Perhaps even, the matters in this forum are currently happening to you and the outcome of our resolution will be of great importance to you personally.

While we may not always agree with each other, so long as we focus on a mutually beneficial resolution, the synergies we discover will be an unstoppable force in making necessary changes.
